In a compact footprint, this coop is a self-cleaning waste system, a composter, a garden, and an all weather, climate-controlled, predator resistant shelter. Your flock's waste becomes compost, the compost feeds the built-in garden, and the garden feeds you and your chickens. The automatic temperature and waste control is something no other coop on the market offers.
Inspired by the classic hoop coop, it's a kit you build yourself. The bulk of the materials, all engineered parts and patented systems ship to you on a pallet. You source the cattle panels and long lumber pieces locally for about $126–246, allowing a system this advanced to not carry thousands in extra shipping costs. Below is everything that makes it work.
The Engineering Behind the Solution
No Waste; No Worries
The patent-pending Tilt 'N Slide® is a panel angled beneath the roost bars. Every night, gravity carries waste down the slide, out the rear panel, and into the exterior compost bin. The polycarbonate material and grooves perfectly allow the waste to slide down and out making cleanup minimal. All that's needed is the occasional scrape or rinse to collect any stubborn waste.
Waste Becomes Compost
The attached compost is at the center of this coop's ecoSYSTEM. The perforated HDPE bin at the back instantly collects all the nightly waste and turns it into a resource. You can toss bedding onto the slide once or twice a week and let microbes do the rest — no turning is required. Rich compost is yours to harvest 1-2x per year and can instantly feed your garden attached to the coop edges.
Ventilation Nobody Else Has
Plenty of coops offer a fan. The Supernova Roof System® adds what they're missing: a separate air-gap chamber between the tarp and the arched roof panels, with an integrated variable-speed fan. It buffers temperature, pulls out moisture, and keeps air moving — which is why this coop can be fully enclosed in winter without going damp. It stays dry, fresh, and naturally clean in all four seasons.

The Gothic Arch Hoop Coop stands 7 feet tall at the peak — tall enough to walk into through a full-height door that sits in a beautiful cedar front panel. The frame is cedar and cattle panel, wrapped in a corrugated HDPE arch roof and twin-wall polycarbonate that let light through while holding heat. Inside, there's room for 8-12 contained hens, a roosting area over the Tilt 'N Slide, and nesting space along the wall. Outside, the compost bin tucks against the back and the optional garden beds run along the sides. Its footprint is 12×14 ft with garden beds, 10×14 without. The hoop coop structure is simple but dependable, through every season. The cold frame covers assist with temperature control through every season and extend the growing season for the garden.

Beyond the Warranty
We build our coops to be a long-term investment — and we support them like one.
Whenever practical, we continue offering replacement components even after your warranty ends. In many cases we'll provide replacement roof cap or tarp assemblies at no charge, with you covering only shipping.
To file a claim, contact us with your proof of purchase, a description of the issue, and photos of the affected component. Replacement parts may be new or refurbished of equal quality.

Your total estimated cost to source these necessary components is $126. However, if they were included in the shipment, it would cost you hundreds, even thousands in additional freight shipping.

Assembly time will vary depending on experience, but most customers should be able to complete the coop over a weekend.
The Queen of Coops System is designed to be assembled with common tools most homeowners already own. You'll need:
- Screw gun or drill/driver for fastening screws (and drilling a few holes if minor adjustments are needed)
- Tape measure to ensure the base frame is square
- Tin snips or heavy-duty scissors for trimming zip ties
- Bolt cutters for making a few cuts to the cattle panels
- Work gloves for safe handling of wire panels and materials
That's it! With your locally sourced lumber and cattle panels, you'll have everything you need to build your Queen of Coops System.
Capacity depends on the model and your management style. 8-12 chickens can happily live in the Queen of Coops if the flock is contained full time. If used with an adjacent run, it can sleep 20-24 birds.
Yes. The coop features heavy 2x2, 12 gage welded wire mesh sides, a predator-resistant door with 1x1, 10 gage wire insert, a secure spring-bolt latch, and integrated side aprons to help discourage digging predators.
The patent-pending Supernova Roof System® creates an insulated air gap between the custom greenhouse tarp and the elevated Gothic arch roof cap. This unique design allows warm, moisture-laden air to naturally rise into the air gap, where it is gently exhausted through the front of the coop by the integrated ventilation fan. By continuously removing heat and humidity, the system helps reduce winter condensation while allowing the coop to remain fully enclosed during cold weather. Fresh replacement air is drawn in through the Tilt 'N Slide® compo-roost opening, providing continuous ventilation without drafts at roost level. During summer, the roll-up PVC sidelights allow cool air to enter low while warm air is exhausted high through the roof system, creating efficient, year-round airflow that helps keep your flock comfortable in every season.
Yes. Queen of Coops was developed and tested in North Idaho, where winter condensation can be a significant challenge. The ventilation system is specifically designed to help maintain a healthier coop environment year-round.
Yes. Simply roll-up tarp sides and the ventilated roof design with extraction fan will provide excellent airflow during warm weather. By drawing in the shaded air low to the ground and exhausting warm air through the air gap, the coop will remain much cooler than a traditional hoop coop with tarp.
It's our innovative manure collection system that sends nightly manure out a slit in the back directly into a no-turn compost pile behind the coop. Simply toss a few shovels of bedding onto the chute a couple times a week and add any pesticide or herbicide-free yard and garden waste to the bin and you’ll be able to harvest nutrient-rich compost for your garden within a few months!
No. These are purchased locally to reduce freight costs and make shipping much more economical.
Adding optional raised beds to your Queen of Coops allows you to grow vegetables, herbs, and greens alongside your chickens. The design also allows chickens to graze fresh vegetation through the fencing without damaging the garden itself. With this configuration, the clear PVC sidelights can be stretched over the raised garden for extending your growing season well beyond the normal frost limits.
We chose 2” x 2” 14 gage welded wire mesh for the sides of the coop so your chickens can reach through and graze on greens next to the coop. This can be at ground level, or in a 12” raised garden bed. Chickens can only reach the first 6” or so, leaving the rest of the yard or garden untouched. Offering your chickens the opportunity to eat greens on a daily basis keeps them happy and healthy. Keeping them from scratching those greens ensures continual use.
Depending on your climate, the custom tarp and clear PVC side panels create a cold-frame environment that can extend your growing season considerably. In some climates you may even be able to plant and harvest lower-growing crops like lettuce, spinach, and radishes year round!
